Kim Delaney is an American actress best known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. Her most well-known role is her role in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a housewife. She grew up within a household with four other brothers. As a child, she dreamt of being a court reporter. After graduating from high school, and moving into New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In her teens, her first role as an actress was in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney has appeared in a variety of television shows, films as well as dramas in the years since. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as happy and prosperous.
